1. How do I make money?

The first thing to do is to register and make sure your profile is complete. This is necessary in order to get paid. Completed profile means you need to provide us with your real names, photo and short bio.

Activities that Contribute to Your Score:

Scores are related to how many articles contributors write, the quality of that content and how it’s promoted on Facebook and Twitter. Individual scores and activities that contribute to them are interconnected to favor possible scores while also promoting your brand and MAARS News.

Score is affected by:

•  Completing your profile (profile image, bio, your location, real name)

•  Posting a minimum of new reports every month

•  Rating other peoples’ reports

•  Commenting and discussing on other contributors’ reports on MAARS News.

•  Adding relevant images and videos (YouTube, or your own) to your report and other contributor reports

2. What is Promotion?

We’ve added buttons for easy sharing on most of the popular social networks. Promoting your content means sharing it with friends on Facebook, Twitter etc. That’s how they might share it with other people and you know the rest of the story. This brings readers to your articles and increases the chance to get more money at the end of the month.

Here are some tips how to promote your content:

o You can report via computer or cell phone

o Tell us what is happening where you are. Your report description can be as short as a paragraph or as long as an article

o Get page views! The more people visit the news reports you created and view your profile, the more page views you get.

o Encourage other people to add images, videos or comments to your news events.

o Share your news reports and opinions with friends, family and others by sharing it via Email

o Share with other communities such as Digg, Reddit, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Delicious and MySpace.

o Develop fans, a readership and reputation on news.maars.net.

o  Contribute your views (image, text, video or comments) to other people’s news or news events

o You can contribute via website or cellphone.

o The more people view the contributions you made to other people’s new reports (uploaded videos or images etc.), the more page views you get.

3. How to increase your score and make more money:

•  Tweet your reports every time by adding Twitter account to your user profile;

•  Post your reports to your Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Reddit and similar;

•  Try to be innovative and write about “hot” news and articles, not about old events;

•  Insert photos and videos to your articles;

•  Do not copy and paste information from other sources, provide only original content of good or high quality;

•  Write news reports about what is happening in your city or country;

•  Engage with the MAARS community (comment, replying to comments, communicate with others, share your opinions);

•  Invite your friends and family to register on MAARS and become your fan;

•  Build a complete profile and online persona to generate global interest in you as a contributor;

•  Submit 6 or more reports a month, write as many articles as possible, do your best to put on some videos on the Video Blogs section;

•  Regularly check the Assignment desk: you will find useful information and inspiration which topics need coverage. Otherwise, you can contact the Editor for advices;

•  Check regularly for our Contests – we select 1 article that wins prize – money or other material stimulation, defined by the Editorial team;

You will only be paid if you reach $100 and then paid in increments of $100.

Once you get paid, the next month will start with any payment balance over the $100 payment and earnings will continue to accrue until you reach the next $100.

Example: for this month our calculations (that you will be able to see – how much you’ve earned so far) show that you’ve made $120. Since payments are made in $100 increments, you will be paid $100 for this month and the $20 earnings balance will be carried forward and apply to the next $100 payment.

We make the money transfers via PayPal.

4. How do we share revenues?

We want to encourage the enthusiastic contributors and the talented ones. That is why, based on the table above and the:

- number of published articles and posted photos and videos;

- quality of the provided content;

- contributor’s monthly activity;

We:

- – Split the Ad Revenue if you get a minimum of 1000 hits per 1 article only;

- – Give $2 per 1000 hits collectively from all your articles;

- – Give $2.50 per 2000 aggregated hits from all your articles;

- – Give $3-$5 per 5000 aggregated hits from all your articles;

This means you can make money out from the total page views you get + percent of the Google Ad Sense Revenue that you generate. You will have access to your scores and results and the amount of money you generated for the month.
